Flashpoint Review

Last Season Barry made the drastic decision to go back in time and save his mother. With his father having recently taken from him, Barry felt he couldn’t live in the world that was left for him. Season 3 kicks off with Barry living in an alternate timeline, where his parents are alive, he’s asked Iris on a date and he can finally be a normal guy has Central City as ‘don’t call me Kid Flash’ running around saving the city. It’s practically Barry’s dream life. Until his memories start fading away…

Flashpoint is a great episode that kicks off a promising season. Seeing all the flashpoint versions of the characters was great, and it was nice to explore this new world, even if it only lasted for one episode. Rich Cisco was hilarious and Kid Flash was done nicely. The interactions between Reverse- Flash and Barry were one of the many high notes. It’s hard to top Tom Cavanagh’s amazing performance as Barry’s nemesis in Season 1, but Matt Letscher does a great job and I can’t wait to see him on Lot. The rival was a bit bland, but the final fight was amazing. Seeing Barry go from loving his new life to deciding to fix the timeline was great. But I don’t think the timeline will ever be completely fixed. It seems like Thawne has now never lost his speed, creating yet another timeline version of Thawne, which is cool. And that Iris cliffhanger was really intriguing. Oh, not to mention the Alchemy cliffhanger as well. SO HYPED!

Flashpoint was a promising start to what looks like is going to be a great season.

Oh, and – Barry: We need to go back in time. Eobard: To do what? Barry: You know what I need you to do. Eobard: I know - but I want to hear you say it. Barry: I need you to kill my mother. Eobard: With pleasure.

Congrats Thawne you are now the evilest being in the universe.
