Gay Eked (died November 2016) was a resident of Star City, the ex-wife of Charles Eked, and the mother of two children. She was the first known civilian targeted and killed by Prometheus.
Biography[]
Sometime prior to late 2016, Gay married Charles Eked and the couple had two children. They eventually divorced, but remained on good terms.[1]
In November 2016, Gay was vacuuming the living room and straightening up her children's toys by herself. After finishing, she turned around to see that Prometheus had broken into her home. Screaming in horror, Gay fell backwards onto the ground and attempted to distance herself from the intruder. She begged him to take whatever he wanted but to spare her life because of her children. Prometheus ignored Gay's pleas and hurled a throwing star into her neck, killing her instantly.
Unbeknownst to Gay, she had been targeted solely because her name served as an anagram for the names of criminals on The List.[2]
Legacy[]
Gay's family was devastated by her death, with her father and ex-husband particularly angry that City Hall didn't realize Prometheus was in fact District Attorney Adrian Chase.[1]
Gay's death was avenged when Adrian committed suicide on May 17, 2017.[3]
