The Crisis of 2024 is a future event that will happen on the night of April 25, 2024. Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash traveled there and battle against Barry Allen/The Flash, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Ray Palmer/Atom for unknown reasons, presumably because he was trying to kill Barry. This event will happen in all possible timelines, including Eobard's timeline of origin and Pre and Post-Flashpoint timelines. The only timeline that this event will not happen is the Flashpoint timeline. It is in this event that Flash and the Reverse Flash will return to March 18, 2000 to fight in the Allen house.

After several encounters, Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash learned the Flash's real name is Bartholomew Henry Allen, better known as Barry Allen. Eobard began to study Barry and learning about his life, including the life of his parents, most notably Nora Allen, and decided the best way to defeat his enemy was to murder Barry as a child on the night of March 18, 2000, but not before having his latest encounter with the Flash and traveled to the night of April 25, 2024.

The Crisis

After Reverse-Flash arrived in 2024, Eobard got attention from the Flash and his allies, in which are Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Ray Palmer/The Atom. They started fighting on the streets of Central City causing the most destruction the city had ever seen. The fight also somehow caused the sky to turn a deep crimson color. Their fight caused several trucks to start leaking their contents onto the streets, and caused power outages spread over 20 blocks throughout the city. The speedsters then started battling over two overturned tanker trucks, and the lightning emitted from them caused the oil from one of them to ignite. While sounded by smoke both speedsters had a very heated conversation on an unknown matter, then the two sped off leaving Green Arrow, the Atom, and Hawkgirl behind. The two then continued their fight up and down an unknown avenue before the Flash vanished without a trace. However, unknown to everyone, the Flash and Reverse-Flash traveled back in time to March 18, 2000, with the Flash chasing Reverse-Flash. The two fought inside the Allen house around Nora Allen, each landing solid hits on each other but their skills were fairly equal, but eventually the future Flash was the significant better compared to the Reverse-Flash. When the 11 year old Barry comes into the room, Nora is in the center of the room surrounded by streaks of yellow and red lightning and gets a brief glimpse of Reverse-Flash's face. As Reverse-Flash moved in for the kill the Flash intervened and transported his younger-self to safety 20 blocks away, much to Reverse-Flash's outrage. However Reverse-Flash quickly theorized another way to achieve his goal; to kill Nora and frame Henry Allen for the crime in the hopes that such a tragedy would traumatize Barry enough so he would not achieve his destiny, and he'd be free to return to a future without the Flash, so Reverse-Flash grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Nora in the stomach and fled the scene to return to his own time which he hoped would now be one without the Flash.

Several days after the Flash vanished in the Crisis, the Central City Citizen was published, and was written by Iris West-Allen (Original, Pre and Post-Flashpoint timeline after Barry saved Iris from Savitar); Julie Greer (Post-Flashpoint timeline in which Savitar kills Iris).

  • The newspaper article written by Iris West-Allen describing the Crisis of 2024 calls the hometown of Green Arrow Starling City, despite being renamed Star City after the presumed death of Ray Palmer. However, it is possible that Star City was again renamed back to Starling City or this is a typo.
  • The photograph depicting the Flash on the newspaper article shows the Flash suit with red earpieces and a white outline on the emblem. However, in the potential future of 2024, the Flash suit has golden earpieces and outline on the emblem. However, there are multiple possibilities of what may have happened. The possible future with the Flash suit having golden earpieces and emblem outline may never come to pass. Alternatively, Barry could have changed the suit to have red earpieces and a white emblem outline sometime after February 3, 2024. Finally, it is possible that the newspaper article originates from the original timeline, in which the Flash suit has red earpieces and a white emblem outline.
  • Meta-humans like the Flash still seem to operate in 2024, despite the Anti-Meta-human Act from 2021.
