- For the character this episode is based around, see Alex Danvers.
- "Who is this?"
- "The real question is who are you? Everyone around you thinks you're just a mild mannered reporter but I know the truth."
- —Kara Danvers and Rick Malverne
"Alex" is the nineteenth episode of the second season of Supergirl, and the thirty-ninth episode overall. It aired on May 1, 2017.
Synopsis
Alex is kidnapped and the kidnapper threatens to kill her unless Supergirl releases a notorious criminal from prison. Supergirl and Maggie have always had different approaches to apprehending criminals but this time they must work together to save Alex. Meanwhile, Rhea has an interesting proposal for Lena.[1]
Trivia
- In one scene, Malverne goes from having handcuffs on to checking his watch (without the cuffs).
- When Supergirl is talking to J'onn, she says, "or fly fast enough and turn back time...", which is a reference to a scene in the 1978 movie Superman, where Superman used his powers to travel back in time to save Lois Lane.
- Furthermore, this is a concept explored heavily by Barry Allen on The Flash.
- In the Lucifer episode "Candy Morningstar" (which aired the same night as this episode of Supergirl), a Supergirl billboard can be seen at the beginning.
