"Alex" is the nineteenth episode of the second season of Supergirl, and the thirty-ninth episode overall. It aired on May 1, 2017.
Synopsis
Alex is kidnapped and the kidnapper threatens to kill her unless Supergirl releases a notorious criminal from prison. Supergirl and Maggie have always had different approaches to apprehending criminals but this time they must work together to save Alex. Meanwhile, Rhea has an interesting proposal for Lena.[1]
Trivia
- In one scene, Malverne goes from having handcuffs on to checking his watch (without the cuffs).
- When Supergirl is talking to Hank Henshaw, in frustration and desperation, she says, 'or fly fast enough and turn back time...' this is potentially a reference to a scene in the 1978 Superman movie, where Superman used his powers to time travel to save Lois Lane.
- Furthermore, this is a concept explored heavily by Barry Allen on The Flash.
